Bobby Wayland Porter

Bobby Wayland Porter was born on Jan. 5, 1942, in Marlin to John Robert Porter and Vera Porter Kimbrough.

On Dec. 30, 2019, he gained his wings and was called home to be with Jesus along with so many family and loved ones who have gone before him.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Ralph Porter (Jean); four grandchildren; and his first wife, Patricia Highberg Porter.

He is survived by his second wife, Paula Cryer Porter of Corpus Christi; his children, Phyllis Landers of Lubbock, Michelle Barker-Abernathy (Curtis) of Austell, Ga., Patrick Porter (Kathleen) of New Braunfels, and Nicole Potter (Timothy) of Corpus Christi. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley Goodwin of Houston; his sister, Carolyn Hollingsworth (Alvin) of Lubbock; 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bobby loved to travel and lived in many states over this great land. He loved his family so very much and will missed by many.

A graveside service will be held on Jan. 11, 2020, at 10 a.m. at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin.
