Dorothea Schrader Neumann, 95, of Marlin, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 after a brief illness.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 10, at Grace Lutheran Church in Marlin with Rev. Kurt Rutz officiating. Mrs. Neumann was born to Adolph and Bertha (Hilbert) Kluck on Feb. 8, 1923, the eldest of three children. She married C.F. (Charlie) Schrader on June 29, 1944, and they made their home on their farm near Priddy. They were blessed with two children, Carolyn and Charles. Charlie preceded her in death in 1983.
On July 27, 1991, she married her childhood sweetheart, Theo Neumann. He preceded her in death in 1999.
Dorothea began her teaching career in 1941 at Zion Lutheran School in Otto. She received a bachelor of science degree and her master’s degree from Howard Payne University. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She taught business, history and German at Priddy High for 30 years.
Dorothea touched the lives of many people. She cherished spending time with all her grown children, their spouses and her grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, dominoes, 84, rummy, reading, dancing and crossword puzzles. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and LWML, serving the Lord with her time and talents in the church, her home and her community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands, her son-in-law, David Coughran, and grandson Mark Coughran.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn Coughran, Charles (Margie) Schrader, Clifford (Susan) Neumann, Jimmy (Phyllis) Neumann, Garland (Marilyn) Neumann and Teresa (Larry) Snyder; brothers Milton and Herbert (Jeannie) Kluck; and seven grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Grace Lutheran Church in Marlin or Delta Kappa Gamma, Beta Nu Chapter scholarship fund.
