Dr. Scott Crockett

Dr. Scott Crockett, 61, of Marlin, passed away at his home on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, after a valiant battle with Corticobasal Degeneration.

Scott was the very essence of compassion, of duty, and a symbol of selfless humanity. Now that he is gone the realization of what we are now without seems unbearable. Yet, while we mourn our loss, sadness is not what the good doctor would have wanted for us. In life and now death he wouldn't want us to focus on sorrow but to continue to love, perfect, and find the beauty in all things in life. So on this day we will not mourn Rather we should thank God that such a beautiful human being lived. A man among men and a shining example to all. As long we live, he too will live, for he is now a part of us leaving lasting impressions that we will carry in our hearts until we meet again.

A celebration of life service was held Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, in the Marlin High School Auditorium at 3 p.m.

Dr. James Scott Crocket was preceded in death by his father, William Crockett.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Lara Crockett; sons, Michael Paul Crockett, Gabriel Brandon Crockett and Jacob Cansler Crockett; daughter, Kelly Anne Long and husband Rich Long; mother, Anne Crockett; sister, Tracey Crockett Hines and husband Tony Hines; brother, Gregory Anders Crockett; nieces and nephews, Nicholas Lawrence Brown, Noelle Elise Crockett, Keenan Yeager John Crockett Hines, Carolina Natalie Hines, Leah Marie Crockett Hempel and Husband Trey Hempel.
