Frederick Eugene “Buddy” Bailey Jr.

Frederick Eugene “Buddy” Bailey Jr., 92, of Rosebud, died Sunday, May 19, 2019, in a Temple Hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m.  Thursday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud with Rev. Don Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in Burlington Cemetery. Mr. Bailey was born November 16, 1926, in Jones Prairie to Frederick Eugene and Penny Stewart Bailey Sr. He grew up In Baileyville and graduated from Rosebud High School. He served in the US Army during WW II and married Melba Albert on Jan. 19, 1947.  He moved to the Lake Jackson area where he worked as an electrician for Dow Chemical and returned to the Rosebud area in 1974. He was preceded in death by his wife; brother, John Bailey; and sister, Maxine Dittmer. He is survived by two sons, Bobby Bailey (Kathy) and Randy Bailey (Paula), both of Rosebud; three daughters, Beth Marcynuk (Larry) of Sugarland, Tonya Tepe (Billy) of Groesbeck, and Robin Luedke of Rosebud; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Burlington Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 72, Burlington, TX 76519. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
