George Hudson, age 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, in Lott, TX. He was born on October 4, in Odessa, TX to Frank and Della (Eatmon) Hudson. He graduated from Blackshear High School. Later, he attended The University of Denver to r
ceive a degree in medicine. While in pursuit of that degree, he discovered his passion for technology, and focused on computer science. At this time he married Deloris Broadus in Marlin, TX. From that union came their only child, Camilla Michelle Hudson.
He worked as a territory manager for IBM, and went on to become one of the first African American sales managers in the 1970s. While at IBM his tenacious work ethic was displayed through his wonderful knack of solving problems, positivity, and perseverance. George truly lived his life to the fullest through simple pleasures;
mentoring, family and friends, gardening, traveling the world, books, golf, and continual education. George had an uncanny ability to reach others in a deep and positive way. George and Deloris continued to be pillars in the community by starting the Falls County Boys and Girls Club in Marlin, TX, owners of Hudson’s hair care products, and Sister’s restaurant.
He is survived by his wife, Deloris; a daughter, Camilla (Lionel) Hudson- Coleman; three grandchildren, Brittany, Lionel, George; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
