Grover “Gene” Hale
Grover “Gene” Hale, 74, of Marlin, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 15, at Country Worship Cowboy Church, 1658 FM 935, Lott, near Durango, with Robert Finto officiating.
Gene was born Dec. 14, 1944, in Marlin. He worked as a truck driver for 47 years. He moved back to the Marlin area in 1984 and worked for Maxey Ag and retired while working for D & F Fertilizer. He also volunteered at the Chilton Volunteer Fire Department for 14 years. Gene was a longtime member of Country Worship Cowboy Church and he loved his church and his church family. Gene married Darla on Aug. 29, 2015, and together they shared a wonderful love story. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Gene was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Teeter.
He is survived by his wife, Darla Hale; his children, Toby Chandler, Rus Teston, Melissa Nelson and Jennifer Brown; sister, Brenda Pruitt; his best buddy, Wallace Teeter; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
