H erman Carl Scheef, Jr.,

Herman Carl Scheef, Jr., 89, of Mineral Wells, formerly of Marlin, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 in Mineral Wells. Funeral services were 10 AM, Monday, March 26, 2018 at Adams Funeral home with the Reverend Thomas Q. Robbins officiating. Masonic rites will be provided at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family received friends from 9:00 until service time on Monday, March 26. Mr. Scheef was born on July 18, 1928 in Fort Worth, to Herman and Elsie (Scholze) Scheef. He married Viola Woltman on July 28, 1951 in Marin and they celebrated over 66 wonderful years together. Mr. Scheef was a very involved individual with the City of Marlin; he was a Past President with the Chamber of Commerce and the Junior Chamber of Commerce, a member of the City Council, Rotary Club, Lions Club and the First United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Marlin Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. Mr. Scheef retired from Southwestern Electric Company which turned into TXU. He loved raising cattle and ranching, traveling (worldwide) with his wife but his true love was his family. Mr. Scheef was preceded in death by his parents and a great grandson. Survivors include his wife, Viola Scheef of Mineral Wells; daughters, Renea Ballman and her husband, Wayne of Cleburne, Ranelle Collinsworth and her husband, Enoch of Weatherford and Robbie Gray of Temple; son Randall Scheef of Marlin; 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
