Helen Habel, a lifetime resident of Falls County, died Sunday, February 2, 2020. She was born to Rudolf Abel and Hulda Quandt Abel on May 12, 1936 in Marlin, Texas. Graveside services were held at the St. Paul Cemetery, north from Marlin, on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 2:00 p. m. with Reverend William Wright officiating. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Evangelical/United Church of Christ where she was married on December 27, 1957 to William Habel. To this union were born two sons; Randall Wayne and Stephen Charles.

Helen enjoyed working for the members of Heart of Texas Production Credit for thirty years, good friends, family, reading, needlework, bible study, family research, gardening and canning were all fun to her during her lifetime.

Her husband, William Habel; sisters, Lorene Abel Neumann, Elsie Abel Niemeyer; brother, Arthur Abel proceeded her in death.

Survivors are sons and families: Randall Habel, wife Michelle and children, Samuel, Lillie and Jake of Houston, Texas; Stephen Habel, wife Tanya of Robinson, Texas, children, Cameron of Chicago, IL., Courtni and Ryan Sladek of New Port, California.
