Herman Bill Greensage

Herman Bill Greensage, of Bremond, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 30, 2019, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple at the age of 86 years old.  

He was born to Samuel Greensage and Mary (Stolicki) Greensage in Calvert on Nov. 28, 1933. 

He attended Calvert High School where he enjoyed playing football; he was #87.   He was a farmer/rancher all his life and worked for Alcoa for 36 years.  Herman was a member of the Bremond School Board for several years.  He loved coaching little league, little dribblers, and watching sports.  Herman married Deborah Chmiel on December 8, 1990 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  He had lived in the Bremond area for most of his life and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.             

He was preceded in death by parents; sisters, Louise Dalton and Pauline Socher; sister-in-law, Joyce Greensage; brother, Bruno Greensage; brother-in-law, Kie Wilganowski; and granddaughter, Terri Lynn Greensage.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Debbie Greensage of Bremond; daughter, Brittany Blenden and husband Cameron of Waco; sons, Billy Ray Greensage and wife Debbie of Bryan, Terry Greensage and wife Judy of Bremond, Mickey Joe Greensage of Bryan, and Brandon Greensage of Bremond; sister, Willie Mae Wilganowski of Marlin; brothers, Raymond Greensage and wife JoNell of Bryan, and Daniel Greensage of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Ann Hix and husband Jarrod, Adam Greensage and wife Kayln, Amber Fuller and husband SR, Jodi Lee Phillips, Brett Greensage, Leah Manriquez, Ryan Greensage, and one grandson on the way; 13 great-grandchildren, Peyton Hix, Camryn Hix, Jaxon Greensage, Holden Fuller, Logan Fuller, Shelby Phillips, Chase Phillips, Nadiyah Manriquez, Noah Manriquez, Nivea Manriquez, CJ Manriquez, Kaden Greensage, and Genesis Greensage.

Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020. from 5-8 p.m. at Bremond Memorial Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation was also held Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, from 9-10:30 a.m. at Bremond Memorial Funeral Home, mass followed at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Celso Yu officiating.  Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Adam Greensage, Donald Wilganowski, George Yezak, Chris Chmiel, Jeff Greensage, and Jimmy Keen.
