Hiram Suldon “Sully” Swinnea

January 9, 1938 - November 10, 2020

Hiram Suldon “Sully” Swinnea, 82, of Bremond, went to be with his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ on November 10, 2020, in Dallas, Texas. He was born January 9, 1938, to Albert and Eunice Swinnea in Marlin, Texas. Sully was in the U.S. Air Force and served in air traffic control in Germany. He worked with the U.S. Postal Service in Marlin then became Postmaster in Bremond. He had a combined 34 years of service working with the U.S. Government. Sully was a rancher and had a great love for his cattle, horses and the country life. He served as an elder at Blue Ridge Baptist Church, First Baptist Church Bremond and Common Grounds Cowboy Church where he also was one of the founding members.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Louise Swinnea and brother, John Albert Swinnea, of Austin.

Sully is survived by his wife, Krisandra “Kris” Swinnea of Dallas; his children, Kevin and wife Robbie Swinnea of Waco, Damon Swinnea of Bremond, and Robin Baber of Waco; his step-children, Charles and wife Angela Daniel of Wylie, Donna and husband Scott Miller of Dallas, and Matthew and wife Amy Daniel of Katy; his sisters, Jane Dietrich of Waco, Ann Duke of Marlin, and Carolyn Alvarnas of Florida; sister-in-law, Joyce Swinnea of Austin; 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Common Ground Cowboy Church in Kosse at a date to be determined. A Memorial fund is set up in memory of Sully at Common Ground Cowboy Church, PO Box 280, Bremond, Texas, 76629.
