Jane Young

Jane Young, age 94, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021, in Marlin. 

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Cameron Supak officiating.

Jane was born on Oct. 19, 1926, in Wichita Falls to Bailey Lee and Pearl Grace (Cannedy) Corbett.  She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in Wichita Falls.  Jane married the love of her life, Dr. Brian B. Young in 1944. He preceded her in 2000.  She was a longtime resident of Marlin.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marlin.  Jane worked as an office manager at Dr. Brian B. Young Optometrist for many years. She was an active member of Marlin Country Club and enjoyed golf, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and playing Texas Hold’em Poker. Most of all, spending time with her family and all of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Brian B. Young; brother, Harold Corbett; and sister, Georgie Marie Keesee.

Survivors include her brother, Bailey Corbett Jr. and wife Janie of Fort Worth; son, Brian Byron Young Jr. and wife Patty of College Station; daughters, Jan Spurgeon and husband Joe of Marlin and Brenda Barganier and husband Tommy Green of Marlin; grandchildren, Lisa Barganier Nehring and husband Buck, Brian Byron Young III and wife Emily, Elizabeth Hunter and husband Andy, Ryan Barganier and Marissa, Leslie Long and wife Rachel, and Crystal Young and husband Will Hutchson; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host friends.

The family would like to thank Texas Home Health Hospice and her caretakers Socorro Rodriguez, Tasha Schultz, Debra Quin, and Janice Hopwood for the care given to our love one.

In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Marlin.
