Jeanette Lydia (Newman) Schrader

Jeanette Lydia (Newman) Schrader met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Feb. 17, 2022, with her husband and daughter by her side after battling a traumatic brain injury for six months.

Jeanette was born in Marlin on Oct. 8, 1952, to Adolph and Lydia (Koerth) Newman. She attended Chilton High School where she met her sweetheart John Schrader. They had their first date at the senior prom in April of 1971 and were inseparable ever since. They married the following year on Oct. 21, 1972, and spent 49 precious years of marriage together. Together they have one daughter, Sarah, whom she loved fiercely and a son-in-law, Ryan, who always kept her on her toes.

Jeanette had an incredible relationship and love for God and wanted everyone to know Him. She loved having deep conversations about the bible with her Sunday school class or anyone who would listen. She was the kind of woman who listened intently and never told your secrets, not even to her sweetheart. The thing she did the best was loving with her whole heart, especially her two grandchildren Levi and Abigail. She would always say that her “heart would ache so much because of the love I have for them” and she meant it. She made sure that they knew who Jesus was. Her smile would light up any room and she could help bring peace to someone’s chaos. Some of Jeanette’s favorite things included reading books, planting flowers, going to state parks in their camper and having lunch dates with old friends.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Lydia (Koerth) Newman; brother, Dr. Melvin Newman; father-in-law, Wesley Schrader; brother-in-law, Robert Schrader.
