Jerry Lynn Garrett

Jerry Garrett of Stranger passed away on Feb. 21, 2022, after a lengthy illness. He was 77 years old.

Jerry was born in Marlin on Nov. 20, 1944, to Glenn W. Garrett and Elnora Ray Garrett.

Jerry graduated from Marlin High School in 1963. He worked at Marlin Mills and Rush Gardner and Bartlett for sometime, but his true calling was to be a cowboy and raising his own cattle. He loved to sing and his infectious smile followed him.

In 1968 he married Janis McElroy in Marlin. Janis passed away in 1999. They had two children, Leonard Garrett (Bo) and Misti Garrett Hildabrand.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Misti; brother, Garland Garrett; sister, Janniece Garrett Thomas; along with sister-in-law, Sue Garrett; and brother-in-law, Gary Scott.

He is survived by son, Bo Garrett; sister, Linda Garrett Scott; brother-in-law, John Thomas; many nieces and nephews and cousins. A special thanks to cousin Libba for keeping the nurses up to date on his needs.
