Jerry Murphy Emmons

Jerry Murphy Emmons peacefully went to join her Lord on Feb. 26, 2022.  

She was born in Marlin, Texas on Sept. 11, 1928, to the late Jerome Curby Murphy and Myrtle Elizabeth Smith Murphy.  She was a military wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was a devout Christian and read the Bible cover to cover multiple times.  You dare not play Christian Trivial Pursuit with her.  She had a passion for her family, church, friends and co-workers.  

She is survived by her children, Murphy Emmons (wife Sylvia) of San Antonio, Michael Emmons (wife Margaret) of Shavano Park and Leanne Burge (husband Terry) of Fair Oaks Ranch; grandchildren, Kyle Emmons of San Antonio, Michael Murphy Emmons of San Antonio, Michelle Jacoby (husband Colton) of Fredericksburg, Melissa Bizon (husband Jeffrey) of San Antonio, Mikaela Jones (husband Kristopher) of Oakhurst, Calif., and Breanna Burge of Boerne; great-grandchildren, Aria Jacoby, Wolfric Jacoby, Brynlee Bizon, Blakely Bizon and Timmy Jones; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin B. Emmons and Adolph Kurek; grandson, Ashton Burge; brother, Pat Murphy; and sisters, Katherine (Katy) Beckworth and Anna Belle Barkley.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kyle Emmons, Michael Murphy Emmons, Colton Jacoby, Jeffrey Bizon, Kenneth Barkley and Ed Beckworth.
