Joan Davison Barganier Dunkum

Joan Davison Barganier Dunkum, 56, passed away at her home in Marlin on February 3, 2019. Graveside Service will be Tuesday, February 5 at 1:00 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery in Marlin.

Joni was born on Thanksgiving Day November 22, 1962 to Joni Dell and Hillary Barganier. She graduated from Vanguard High School. She attended LSU on a tennis scholarship for one year. She went on to graduate from Baylor University with a degree in Sociology. She worked for the Texas Youth Commission and Mexia State School, and in most recent years she was selfemployed. She had a love of music, was an avid arrowhead hunter, and was blessed with an inherent gift of being able to make people laugh.

Joni was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Craig Hillary Barganier.

Survivors include her husband Bob Dunkum, sisters Sally Barganier; Jenny Barganier Neumann and husband Ronnie. She also is survived by her sister-in-law Brenda Barganier. Nieces include Lisa Barganier Nehring and husband Buck; and Hillary Neumann. Nephews include Ryan Barganier, wife Marissa, and their son; Hunter Neumann; Travis Neumann, wife Kathleen, and their children; Trent Neumann, wife Jennifer, and their daughter; and her Aunt June Evans. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Barbara Dunkum.
