Kelvin Ray Lewis
Kelvin Ray Lewis passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, in Temple, Texas. Kelvin Lewis was born on September 23, 1971 in Rosebud Texas to Milton Taylor and Easter Lewis. He completed his education at Marlin High School in 1990 and entered the United States Army the same year. After discharging from the Army in 1997, Kelvin spent the majority of his career at Walmart Distribution; first in Colorado Springs, then in Temple, Texas.
Kelvin married his high school sweetheart, Cassandra Rene Lewis, on September 24, 2004 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Kelvin was the father of two children, Andre Taylor and Kayla Lee Lewis. Kelvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, grandson, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law, and friend. Kelvin was loved and will be truly missed.
Kelvin Lewis worshiped the Lord and knew of the heavenly kingdom that awaited him. He was preceded in death by many of his loved ones including his father, Milton Taylor aka Papa T; his grandfather, Fred Shelby; his brother, Fredrick Lewis; and his mother-in-law, Alma Lee Smith.
Kelvin leaves behind many loved ones including his wife and daughter, Cassandra Rene Lewis and Kayla Lee Lewis of Temple, Texas; his son, Andre Taylor and grandson of Colorado Springs; his mother, Easter Lewis and grandmother, Verta Ray Shelby “Granny Ray” of Marlin, Texas; his brother and sisters: David Lewis Sr. and Olivia Lewis of Marlin, Texas; Glinda McFeders and Vernard Taylor of Dallas, Texas; his uncles Willie James Taylor of Midland and Billy Gillon of Temple, Texas; a host of nieces and nephews; and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00a.m. at Marlin Missionary First Baptist Church on 507 Bennett Street in Marlin, TX 76661. A burial will follow immediately after the service at Peaceful Rest Cemetery. The family will be accepting flowers and visitors at Paul’s Funeral Home in Marlin, Texas on Friday, February 1, 2019 between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
