Lillie Pearl Menefee Hollins

Was born February 27, 1928 to Edmond & Susie Menefee. She was raised by her step-mother, Saharah Menefee. She joined the St. Paul Baptist Church at an early age under Rev. William Kennedy in Marlin, Texas. She later moved to Midland, Texas where she met Rev. L. B. Hollins and they were united in marriage for 41 years. Mother Hollins united with Faith Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Supt. William C. Kenan where she served faithfully until her demise. Mo. Hollins could be found working in various areas of the church; a few being the Mother’s Board, Sr. Usher Board, Sunday School, Bible Band, and the Mission Dept. She also lent her talent to singing with the Faith Temple Voices. But she is probably best known for her baking those delicious Pound Cakes! Lillie worked as a nurse’s aide for a number of years; she also worked for the Hargove Family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. L. B. Hollins; her parents, Edmond & Susie Menefee; step-mother, Saharah Menefee; one brother, Samual Menefee; and one sister, Frankie Lewis Sledge. She leaves to cherish one sister, Lorene Weatherspoon of Marlin, Texas; two sisters-in-love, Dorothy McGruder of Midland, Texas and Dorothy Hollins of Olney, Texas; a special niece, Patricia Lewis of Marlin, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and church members. Her viewing will be Friday, August 3, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Faith Temple of God. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
