Linda Kay (Nutt) Scaman

Linda Kay (Nutt) Scaman, 71, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022. She was at her home surrounded by her family. 

Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Marlin with Rev. Judd Strawbridge and Deacon Doug Porter officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, at Robertson Funeral Home Chapel located at 338 Commerce Street in Marlin.

Linda was born Dec. 19, 1950, in Marlin where she would live the rest of her life. She was a graduate of Marlin High School and worked at the First State Bank for a number of years before retiring from the Veterans Administration Medical Center where she worked in Accounting. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her beloved granddogs and grandcats. She was especially fond of Cricket, Millie, Zahra and Zoey. Linda enjoyed playing against her children, Ricky and Liz, as they watched Wheel of Fortune. Linda was a member of Trinity Memorial Baptist Church and First Baptist Church, both of Marlin.

During Linda’s short illness, she loved and appreciated the love and care her children, Ricky and Liz, who gave of themselves so willingly, provided her. They have always been the love of her life.

Linda was preceded in death by her father and mother, Harlan and Frances (Sowders) Nutt; and sisters, Cathy Stevens and Lana Balzrette, all of Marlin.

She is survived by her son, Ricky Scaman and fiance Tina Muth; daughter, Elizabeth Scaman; grandson, Daniel Scaman; granddaughter, Kayla Scaman; and sister, Sandra Berry; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Pete Nehring, Man Nehring, Edd Nehring, James Johnson, Richard Johnson, Thomas Ehlers, Bradley Nutt, and Michael Stott.
