Linda Vanek

Linda Vanek, 62 of Riesel, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022 in Marlin.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2022, at Hillcrest Cemetery with Reverend Kurt Rutz officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30–1 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2022, at the cemetery.

Linda was born on July 23, 1959, to Edgar Walter and Ella Mae (Pankonien) Neumann. Linda was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Marlin. She was baptized on August 23 1969 at Grace Lutheran. She was confirmed at Grace on April 15, 1973.  

Linda was a longtime resident of Riesel.  She graduated from Marlin High School in 1977.  Linda worked as an Office Manager for several years.  She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Most of all, spending time with all of her grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Walter Neumann, and sister, Cynthia Mae Dees.

Survivors include her mother, Ella Mae Neumann of Riesel; sons, Heath Vanek and wife Andrea of Riesel, and Adam Vanek and Krystal of Riesel; grandchildren, Austin Vanek, Elijah Vanek, Laney Vanek, and Augustus Vanek, Makaley Shoults; brother-in-law, John Dees of Marlin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
