Mr. Winfred L. “Charlie Brown” Bandy

Mr. Winfred L. “Charlie Brown” Bandy, 93, of Marlin, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 in the Temple VA Nursing Home. Visitation was held Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m, with a prayer service being held at 7:00 p.m. with Thomas Blann officiating at Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Bandy was born on November 13, 1924 in Eddy, Texas to Charles E. and Annie Espy (Butler) Bandy. He graduated from Chilton High School and was a lifetime Falls County resident. Mr. Bandy enlisted in the United States Army on April 14, 1943 serving in the Pacific Ocean area and attained the rank of Sargent and was discharged in February of 1946. He went to work for the VA Hospital in Marlin in 1950 as a business clerk and retired in 1980. Mr. Bandy was a member of the VFW and the DAV in Marlin and he attended the RLDS Church in Marlin. He loved to read, play dominos, ride his bike and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Mr. Bandy was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Annie Espy (Butler) Bandy; brothers, Charlie and Hillis; a sister, Annie Lorene on February 18, 2018. Survivors include nieces, nephews and dear friends.
