Pearline Stewart Hopkins

March 24, 1940 - December 19, 2020

Mrs. Pearline Hopkins passed away on December 19, 2020.  Services will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery.  Viewing will be held , Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and a Wake will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home Chapel.

 

Pearline Stewart Hopkins was born on March 24, 1940, the first child born to J.D. Jackson and Jessie Mae Washington in Marlin, Texas.  She attended the Booker T. Washington public school.

 

Pearline confessed her faith in the Lord at an early age and united with South Union Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Perry , where she sang in the choir.  She later moved to Los Angeles, California where she united with the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church.  She remained a faithful member until she retired and moved back to Marlin.  

 

Pearline became a member of Bibleway Church Family under the leadership of Bishop Garrett.  At Bibleway, she sang in the choir, was a Sunday School teacher and President of the Pastor’s Aide.

 

Pearline met, fell in love, and married Isaac Hopkins while they lived in California.  To this union the Lord blessed them with a son, whom they named Michael Hopkins.

 

Pearline was preceded in death by her father, J. D. Jackson, adopted father, Freddie Stewart, her mother, Jessie Mae Washington Parker and her acquired daughter, Lola Faye Bell.

 

Early morning on December 19, 2020, Pearline’s work on earth was completed and she was called home.

 

After all was said and done, Pearline leaves to cherish her precious memories a very loving devoted husband, Isaac Hopkins, her son, Michael Hopkins, one sister, Janie Jackson, two special children that she claimed as her own, Caleb Wright and Cerenidy Sherman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friend.
