Ruth Ann Parrish Wilson

Ruth Ann Parrish Wilson, age 78, passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 in Waco. Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 7, at 2 PM at St. John Episcopal Church in Marlin. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Wilson was born October 23, 1938, the daughter of William Manly and Leah Fountain Parrish. She graduated from Marlin High School in 1957. Mrs. Wilson attended Texas State University at San Marcos for one year. She completed her education at The University of Texas at Austin where she majored in Fine Arts.

On March 9, 1963, she married Geo. B. Wilson, Jr. in Marlin. They lived in Hearne, Texas for three years where he owned and managed a retail apparel store.

In 1966 they return to Marlin to make their home. Mrs. Wilson is an accomplished painter and watercolorist, had been an avid golfer and lifemember of Texas Exes. She was a communicant of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Marlin, where she was a longtime member of the altar guild.

Ruth Ann was devoted to her family which includes her husband, George, her daughter Ann, married to Michael C. Lloyd, son Curry and two granddaughter, Sarah and Claire Lloyd; grandson, George Calan Wilson; brother, William M, Parrish , Jr. of Waco, and sister, Sue Parrish Bass of Dallas.
