William Joseph Bachert, Jr. (Billy) was graciously and peacefully called home to meet his Lord and Savior on August 4, 2017, in Marlin, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 53 years, Sharon Bachert, of Marlin; their son, David Bachert, his wife, Denise; and five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Luke, Anna and Andrew of Katy, Texas. He also leaves behind brothers Michael Bachert of Magnolia, Texas, and Gary Bachert of Somerville, Texas; sister Peggy Auchmoody and husband, Michael of Livingston, Texas; brother-in-law Robert Parke and wife, Hazel of Rockport, Texas; and many other relatives. Visitation was held Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home located at 129 Coleman St. in Marlin. Funeral services are pending for Thursday, August 10, 2017 in or near League City, Texas. Born January 7, 1943 in Needville, Texas to William Joseph Bachert, Sr., and Lorene Bednarek, Billy loved his family, gardening and, most importantly, leading others to saving faith in Jesus Christ. He served his family and others through a variety of professional and ministry capacities and never hesitated in sacrificing to provide for those he loved. From all of us who loved him dearly, we are thankful for the legacy he left; one that far exceeds the value of the most commonly held riches of this world. His life taught us that faith in Jesus, love of family and an unrelenting commitment to a job well done pays dividends for all eternity.
