Grands go gardening

Grandson in tow, Hubby and I had plans for his after-school afternoon. We still had a few refrigerators to fill and turn into raised garden beds. Defunct refrigerators make beds the perfect height for someone like me who has noticed the ground has gotten farther away than confortable. Imagine the project as filling gigantic flowerpots before planting. Hubby previously had fun shooting drainage holes in the backs. We’d put the first layer into the door-less fridges – broken bricks, rocks and the like for drainage. Time for the heavy work. Twelve bags of soil remained from the load Hangman brought earlier in the year. Normally 40 pounds a bag, they’d soaked in rain and must have been 50 pounds easily.
