Letter to the Editor - December 23

Thank you

On November 21, 2020 Faith, Hope & Charity: Concerned Citizens Organization for Youth Inc. held its twenty-eighth annual free Thanksgiving Dinner for the elderly and shut-ins age 65 and older of "Miracle Marlin".

Faith, Hope & Charity wants to thank God first for allowing this to happen. It was a blessed day and a huge success. The blessings just keep flowing in the bleakest of times.

With the help of sponsors and volunteers 391 plates were served. It would have been impossible to accomplish this without them.

A big thank you goes to a dynamic group of sponsors: Marlin Chapter of the Salvation Army, Marlin HEB, Citizens State Bank, 1st National Bank of Hughes Springs, Falls Community Hospital & Clinic, Apple Sport Ford, Brookshires of Robinson and Sam's Club of Waco. Also, thanks to Deborah Raphael and the CSI students from Marlin High School for participating in the success of this endeavor.

Thank you goes to the volunteers as well. Volunteers helped with the preparation of the food, filling the plates, packaging the food for delivery and, last but not least, the drivers that delivered the meals with love, kindness and compassion.

Faith, Hope and Charity is a big believer in "Miracle Marlin" and thanks the community for coming together to share this day.

Where there is Unity there is Strength.

With much love,

Shirley King
