Letter to the Editor: Thank you for the help when Marlin needed it most

Dear Editor, I would like to publicly acknowledge two individuals who gave above and beyond in order to help citizens of Marlin during the recent water outage.

First, I want to thank Rod Henry from Temple, TX.

Rod represents Rotary District 5870 and gave of his time and energy to coordinate free water deliveries from his contacts in the Temple area. Rod even recruited friends to come with him to Marlin and participate in handing out drinking water to citizens. Second, I want to thank Chip Parmer, incoming president of Marlin Rotary, for offering not only his services, but also for the use of First Baptist Church facilities and amenities provided by the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention Disaster Relief team.

Rod and Chip personify the Rotary motto of “Service Before Self”. Marlin is a better place thanks to their concern and their desire to do what Jesus would do.

Sincerely, Roger A. Nutt
