Oh, Christmas bees... Oh, Christmas bees

The bees should be sleeping in their hives, but the weather has them fooled. Good thing we left the hummingbird feeder up in the case of a passing hummer. An unseasonable Christmas season it is this year.

The hummers we’re getting are bees not birds. They do appreciate the feeder though, as much as bees can. In the past two weeks the visiting bees have sipped two inches of hummingbird nectar from the reservoir. Marilynn sits batting at the kitchen window with enthusiasm while the bees go about their business. She wouldn’t be happy to actually catch a bee; she’s just a foolish kitten still. I can enjoy her antics safe behind the glass.
