We thank our Veterans for their service

Make America great again! Truth is our country has been kept great by the efforts of our Veterans! The women and the men of our military that sacrifice more than we will ever know by putting our Country first when evil reared its ugly head, and proudly preserved our Constitution along with our freedoms!

We enjoy our God given rights because of their actions! We thank the Good Lord for our Veterans because brave men and women conceived the idea of living in a country that would be free from a tyrants rule. They wanted to bow to the Cross and not to a mortal king.

A country where they could have freedom to govern themselves, to base their laws on Godly principles, and to have freedom of religion where they could serve a living God each and every day.

Our first Veterans stood up to a king and gained the victory as America came to be a fledgling nation. Our forefathers put together a plan and developed the blueprint to govern this beginning of democracy. Each time these leaders met, a considerable amount of time was spent in prayer as they sought guidance for their attempts to form a democratic governing system. The result being a Constitution thoroughly ingrained with Godly principles that sought fairness and rights for all people. Since that beginning, men and women have been asked to step up and defend our Nation, our Constitution, and our Flag. And they have done so, unselfishly!

Today, our history tells our story, stories about men and women and their struggle to survive ... stories that will put a lump in your throat and bring tears to your eyes and make you fiercely proud of all the patriotic veterans that sacrificed so very much that you and I might live a life that allows us to pray and say “Thank you, Lord for our bounty!” And now we live in this great country and enjoy these blessings, and we should often say “Thank You!” to our veterans that make it possible to live in “One Nation, Under God, Home of the Free.

Because of the Brave.”  I did not know my Dad was a hero, but now I know that he was and that we all are surrounded by these brave patriotic Veterans that are our unsung heroes. So, take a moment to reflect and then tell these veterans, Thank You!

Veterans Day is an official United States public holiday and is observed on Nov. 11. At the end of World War I, major conflicts were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. Prior to 1954, it was called Armistice Day. President Woodrow Wilson observed the first Armistice Day on Nov. 11, 1919.

In 1938, a Congressional Act made the 11th of November in each year a legal holiday: “a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated and known as ‘Armistice Day. According to Wikipedia, in 1945, World War II veteran Raymond Weeks from Birmingham, Alabama, had the idea to expand Armistice Day to celebrate all veterans, not just those who died in World War I. He was later recognized as the “Father of Veterans Day.” President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a bill into law on May 26, 1954 making Armistice Day a National holiday honoring all American Veterans. Congress amended the bill on June 1, 1954, replacing “Armistice” with “Veterans,” and since that time, we honor all of our Veterans and annually celebrate Veterans Day at the 11th  hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.
