Basketball Weekly for Central Region
Basketball season will be coming to an end for some in a couple of weeks as others will be preparing for the playoffs. The winter storm that hit this past weekend made some schools move their games around.
Cameron
The Yoemen (10-13, 2-4) fell to Rockdale 59-40 and Little River Academy 56-43 this past week.
The Lady Yoe (12-15, 17) defeated Rockdale 40-19 on Tuesday night before falling to Little River Academy on Friday night 66-28.
Cameron played Franklin on Tuesday, Jan. 27. They will host Thrall on Friday, Jan. 30, before traveling to Rogers next Tuesday, Feb. 3.
Thorndale
The Bulldogs (21-4, 6-0) went 2-0 this past week defeating Bartlett 61-27 and Milano 75-27.
The Lady Bulldogs (1813, 5-3) beat Bartlett on Tuesday night 56-20 and Milano on Friday night 3120.
“We are on the rebound after a rough week. We have some kids healthy from injury and a few back from illness,” Coach Doug Franklin said on Friday night. “Currently we are third, we just beat the first place team in district, and we have the second place team on Tuesday at home. We are going to try and win out. In the end, we want to be the first seed for the Division 1 playoffs.”
Thorndale played Rosebud- Lott on Tuesday, Jan. 27. They will travel to McDade on Friday, Jan. 30, before having a bye next Tuesday, Feb. 3.
Milano
The Eagles (2-14, 2-4) defeated McDade 55-33 on Tuesday night before falling to Thorndale 75-27 on Friday night.
The Lady Eagles (4-25, 1-7) took a win over McDade 32-26 and lost to Thorndale 31-20 this past week.
Milano played Granger on Tuesday, Jan. 27. They will host Holland on Friday, Jan. 30, before traveling to Bartlett next Tuesday, Feb. 3.
Rosebud-Lott
The Cougars (15-9, 3-3) defeated McDade 64-32 on Thursday night and are currently in fourth place in district play.
The Lady Cougars (1610, 5-2) beat Bartlett 46-32 on Monday night and McDade 52-5 on Thursday night.
Rosebud-Lott played Thorndale on Tuesday, Jan. 27. They will host Granger on Friday, Jan. 30, before traveling to Holland next Tuesday, Feb. 3.
Marlin
The Bulldogs (10-16, 60) defeated Moody 62-37 and Bruceville-Eddy 71-64 to remain undefeated in district play.
The Lady Bulldogs (199, 8-0) remain undefeated in district play after a 61-33 win over Moody and a 8024 win over Bruceville-Eddy this past week.
Marlin had a bye on Tuesday night, Jan. 27. They will host Riesel on Friday night, Jan. 30, before traveling to Axtell next Tuesday, Feb. 3.
Chilton
The Pirates (7-8, 4-2) defeated Axtell 64-26 on Tuesday night. They had a bye on Friday night.
The Lady Pirates (18-10, 5-2) won a thriller against Axtell 49-48 this past Tuesday night before having the night off on Friday.
Chilton played Mart on Tuesday, Jan. 27. They will travel to Moody on Friday night, Jan. 30, and then will host Bruceville-Eddy next Tuesday, Feb. 3.
