Bulldog co-captains sign letters of intent

Lady Bulldogs Aniya Williams(#3) & Yasmen  Maxwell (#5) signed letters of intent to play basketball during their college careers on Wednesday, Nov. 11. The two co-captain Marlin's Girls Varsity Basketball team, alongside teammate McKenna Johnson.

The team played their first game against Lancaster the night before, and though they lost, both of these players gave it their all. Williams scored five points, got 11 rebounds, and succeeded in a single steal while Maxwell scored a total of 19 points, eight rebounds, and two steals. Maxwell was also named Maxpreps Player of the Game for her Nov. 10 performance.

She plans to attend the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, located in Belton. The Crusaders are an NCAA Division lll University and play in the American Southwest Conference.

Williams will play for the University of South Carolina Upstate Spartans, located in Spartanburg, SC. They are a NCAA Division l University in the Big South Conference.

The Bulldogs will head back to the court to take on Chilton on Friday night, then Clifton on Tuesday and Hubbard on Nov. 20. Tickets will be available for presale at the Marlin High School front office for $3. Schedules subject to change due to COVID-19. Check marlinisd.org for current info.
