Bulldogs kick off season with loss to Mart, set for Groesbeck
The Marlin Bulldogs football team kicked off their season in their brand new turf field on Friday against the Mart Panthers.
Marlin was defeated, losing 48-8.
Mart got on the scoreboard first with a 10-yard touchdown run to make the score 7-0. The Bulldogs responded with an 86 yard touchdown pass from Roderick Suiters to I’Aire Kee for an 8-7 lead following the successful two point conversion. Mart began to pull away and shut the Bulldogs out the rest of the game, scoring 41 unanswered points to win 48-8.
Roderick Suiters played well, throwing for 108 yards and a touchdown. Mario Hopwood also had a good game with 63 rushing yards. I’Aire Kee had a great game with 86 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Up next, the Bulldogs will travel to take on the Groesbeck Goats. The game will be on Friday and kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
