Lady Bulldogs advance to area round

The Marlin girls’ basketball team scored the first 14 points of the game and coasted to a 65-38 victory over Valley Mills in a bi-district game at Waco University High School on Tuesday.

They will play Centerville for the Area championship. Center defeated Cayuga 50-23 on Monday. We’ll update you as soon as we find out time, date and place.

Mystique Womack scored 26 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs against Valley Mills. Two other Marlin players scored in double figures. Danielle Noble netted 13 points and Aniya Williams added 10 points.

Marlin raced out to a 14-0 lead three minutes into the game and led 25-4 at the first break. They were up 33-12 at halftime and 54-29 entering the fourth quarter.
