MYAC Launches Girls Flag Football Program
The Marlin Youth Athletic Commission (MYAC) is making history this season by launching its first-ever all-girls flag football program, inviting peoople from across the region to participate.
Aimed at empowering young athletes and expanding local recreational opportunities, the league is currently forming its inaugural 9U and 11U teams.
Organizers have set a target of 12 players per roster to kick off the program. They view as just the beginning of a larger movement for youth sports in the area.
The program arrives with a clear mission that extends far beyond touchdowns, emphasizing personal development.
MYAC’s new initiative focuses heavily on helping participants build stronger confidence both on and off the field, foster lifelong friendships as teammates and experience the joy of the game through teamwork, discipline and fun.
While the league is launching exclusively with the 9U and 11U divisions, MYAC is not stopping there. It has already announced plans to expand the program to younger age brackets, with 5U and 7U girls’ teams projected to roll out in the future.
In an effort to maximize opportunities for youth across the region, MYAC has made it clear that registration is not restricted to Marlin residents.
The league is actively welcoming families from all neighboring communities to sign up their daughters if they want an opportunity to play, compete and learn in a positive environment.
Families interested in participating should take note of the upcoming signup deadline on June 26.
The program features a tiered registration pricing system, with a standard registration fee of $50 for girls who are not currently cheering.
There is a discounted rate of $25 for girls who are active cheerleaders.
To ensure the inaugural season is a success, the Marlin Youth Athletic Commission is putting out a call to action for residents and businesses.
The program is actively seeking dedicated coaches, financial sponsors and general community supporters to help build a sustainable foundation for the league.
Parents, volunteers and potential sponsors looking to get involved or register an athlete are encouraged to contact program coordinator Yasmen Forward directly via Facebook.
