Marlin Community Garden Club at Strawberry Festival

Several members of the Marlin Community Garden Club, the first gardening club in the state of Texas founded in 1923, spent April 25, 2026, at the Western Belle Family Farm at the Strawberry Festival in West Texas. Strawberry picking, riding in the wagon to see the grounds, ponds, and Scottish Highland Cattle ( or “Heilan Coo”) were a real treat. There were 30+ farm activities, including Spring photo ops in a garden scene or atop a two-story chair, walk/ rolling inside a huge water cistern, cuddling baby goats, zip lining, and enjoying a Spring-only menu like puree strawberry slushies and donuts! There were Western Belle steak tacos, Texas-sized soft pretzels, fresh kettle corn & more, too! These members wrapped up their day-long pilgrimage with a visit to local restaurants and tourism facilities for Czech kolaches and gift shopping
