The City of Marlin is strengthening its partnership with the Marlin 4B Economic Development Corporation, a civic organization funded by a dedicated portion of local sales tax to stimulate business growth and revitalization in the community.
On May 4, the Falls County Samaritan House in Marlin awarded clean, quality outerwear clothing in sizes 4 to 14 to Falls County Community ARC Coalition volunteers Derinda Austin and Olga Rosas. The clothing was directed to Marlin Elementary School Nurse Judy Morrow for emergency use with Pre-K, kindergarten and first grade children.
An oil leak was reported in Falls County this week, with over 5,000 barrels of crude oil spilling or leaking near Rosebud.
Dr. Brandon K. Hubbard has been chosen as a finalist for Superintendent of the Year by the Texas Rural Education Association. The superintendent of Chilton Independent School District, Hubbard is one of several finalists recognized for their lasting impact on rural education in Texas. This year, the Texas Rural Education Association received the highest number of nominations for its “Of the Year” awards in program history.
