Families across Marlin gathered on Saturday, September 27, for a joyful and meaningful Family Play Day, hosted at Faith, Hope & Charity (FHC), 405 E First St., Marlin. The event ran from 9 AM to 2 PM and brought together community members for a day of food, fun, and family-focused activities.
The Marlin City Council met Tuesday, September 16, in a Special Called Meeting at 6:00 pm. Elected officials present were Mayor Susan Byrd, Mayor Pro Tem Joe Mark Taylor, Terence McDavid, Scottie Henderson andb Cecil Sparks. Morris Watson, Michael Milnes and James Parker, City Attorney were not in attendance. City Secretary Maryann Waddle was present. Mayor Byrd announced the resignation of Council member Michael Milnes, Pct. 1. The Council accepted the resignation.
The Falls County Commissioner’s Court met Monday, September 22, 2025 at the County Courthouse, Judge Jay Elliott, presiding. All Commissioners and the County Attorney were present.
