The Marlin City Council met October 14, 2025 at a regular scheduled meeting at 6:00 p.m. Elected officials present: Mayor Susan Byrd, Mayor Pro Tem Joe Mark Taylor, Morris Watson, Terence McDavid, Scottie Henderson, Will Roe and Cecil Sparks. Staff present was Maryann Waddle, City Secretary. City Attorney, James Parker, was not present. Minutes from prior September meetings were approved by the Council.
After an ongoing search, the Marlin City Council voted unanimously on October 9, 2025, to hire Jason Creacy as the new city manager. Creacy will officially begin his new leadership role on Nov. 3, 2025, with a starting $90K salary.
Marlin celebrated their annual homecoming parade on Friday, Oct. 17, at 3 p.m. in downtown Marlin, showcasing school spirit and community pride.
