The Marlin Independent School District is currently seeking multiple high level positions at the high school for the upcoming school year. The positions that are open are principal, assistant principal, head band director, counselor. The Falls County Sheriff’s Office is warning ranchers and landowners to be on high alert following reports of cattle thefts in the region. According to the department, suspects are targeting yearlings and calves that lack identifiable markings such as brands or ear notches.
Falls County Commissioners Court met Monday, July 14,2025, at 9:00 a.m., County Judge Jay Elliott presiding. The commissioners present were F. A. Green (Pct 2) via teleconference, Jason Willberg (Pct. 3), and Nita Wuebker (Pct. 4).

The Marlin Lions Club held a school supply giveaway at the Marlin Walmart on Saturday. A special thanks goes out to Jamie Sanchez, Marlin Walmart Manager. July 25th will be Jamie's last day in Marlin as he takes over as manager of the Walmart in Woodway. Good luck Jamie & thank you for all of your support for Marlin & Falls County.
In a generous show of community support, the Town Lake (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, based in Austin, donated cases of bottled water last week to residents of Marlin.
